Love the floor and the volume, and the colour or lack of it.
I think the furniture is poncey. I'd keep the lamp and the mirror and put the rest to rest. Why clutter up a hallway?

(you asked)

LOVE: The Black and White with Green accents.
Would love to see what's going on along the wall on the right

PUZZLED BY: The position of the seat. Maybe a good place to rest before tackling the stairs??

oh I think i just died and went to lanne heaven LOL THIS IS AWESOME. I would probably change out the light.. but the floors.. those stairs I AM IN LOVE WITH them(but might change the white uprights for something less frou frou).. i wish i could see the black chair in the front clearer..but i am going out on a limb and loving it LOL The black wall segement is fantastic.. the big door is.. heavenly.. the seat IS oddly placed but gosh.. i might shove it in the middle of the room too if i owned it. Not loving the ferns but like their colour imput.. room is AWESOME sauce overall.

Love the colour scheme its full of personality, drama and some fresh little bounces of colour around the room..........and love the black room through the doorway, makes me want to go in and see more...
I think the chair is one of those round ones that you can sit in 4 different directions but I would have taken the buffet away and put a round table there instead of the chair...It looks like they added the buffet with the mirror 1st and then wondered what to do with the space in the middle, but the mirror would have been a feature on its own. The morrocan lamp feels a little strange...Personally not a fan of checkerboard floors and I just don't think its needed in this room...there is alot going on and its feels like there is something going on in every direction which can be a bit much.
I could live there though.

Great choice Katrina- I am drooling already.
I love the colours and I love the softness of the ferns. My first impression was how wonderfully they mixed the modern in the other room with the traditional in this entry. I would have done what Elements suggested in having a round table in the centre but I love these chairs. The chair near the stairs looks very promising too. I love black & white floors like this and the white on the stairs. Actually lets just replace the light fitting for a chandelier and have a party:)

I must be feeling very mellow today, but I love everything about this room...even the ferns! Does it classify as a room? It must...it's bigger than my kitchen!!

I don't mind this room either...BUT I hate hate hate the black and white square floor- simply could NOT live with that. So I don't LOVE it but it's ok. LOL.

Loving the staircase, not the black and white floor, a better light fitting would suit the area, maybe a chandy? Not in love with the chair. I would rather a Wing back chair any day.

Hi again...I am running behind on these blogs!!
thought i was up to date with my last comment..BUT alas..not so...(outdated post!!)....

Anyway...MMM...i do love black & white...
BUT....

I totally detest/HATE indoor plants...especially ferns..palms.. with a passion...!!

I love the black feature wall...BUT i find the whole entrance a BIT TOO harsh...& a bit too staged...

Not really welcoming... not kind of peaceful..relaxing...inviting...
TOO severe...TOO harsh for my liking..

OOHH feel a tad guilty being so critical...??!

Hmmm....gonna have to say that tufted round booth seat smack bang in the middle..ADORE IT!
Love the two toned staircase...the abundance of natural light..the check flooring...the openness of this space and the little pops of greenery added...all = GORGEOUS!

Is it a waiting room? I like all the individual pieces. The floor, the chair, staircase, light etc. The chair at the bottom of the stairs suggests either someone very unfit or it just says waiting room to me.

I love the black and white floor and the stair case. I don't like the sofa/chair. It's just hanging out in the middle of the room. I don't like the green throw rug on it. It looks like the sofa is ooozing something... but I like the rest of the greery in the room. The mirror behind the door (I presume it's a mirror?) looks interesting.

Actually, out of all the rooms that you have shown and I have commented on so far this one I like the most! (phew, I was starting to get worried). I think this room packs a punch. I think it would feel more welcoming when you were in it. Just one small thing, from a practical view point, the chair in the middle of the floor, I can see tripping over in the dark, coming home after a late night accident happening here!!! Overall, I like this room and I do like the chair in the middle of the hallway, but not placed there.
