If someone else was paying me to live in it yes... just a bit too formal and busy for me, the way it is. Take away all the murals/wallpaper? and gilding and paint walls neutral colour and the architectural details would stand out more I reckon... beautiful panelling, ceiling and cornices. A-M xx

It's way too Baroque for me but the furniture looks great and it does look quite a warm, inviting room despite the ceiling height and lavishness of it all. Maybe if I was in a different era! Jane :)

I could...if I painted out the murals a nice griege colour and replaced the mantel...but then it wouldn't be a French living room lol.

Well I might have to get the ballgown out and brush up on my backgammon skills....but I think I could cope with a few hours in here. Formal, but nice.

Yes, I could live there but I think our income stream would have to increase substantially to keep up with the Le Joneses.

I am with A-M you pay me to live in there and yeah I could cope. I appreciate the time period look but I wouldn't choose to live in it.

I do admire the beauty and detail of it but I couldn't live there either. I am a more simple gal:). In a room that size I would love to have the mouldings without the murals. I love the fireplace and the little candles on the mantle. Apart from the murals I would also change the coffee table. I just don't see it as the right piece for that room.
Love all your comments- thanks for playing:)

Love the couches, coffee table, lamps, arm chairs and the fire ... couldn't live with the mural/wallpaper or the gilding, the rug or the chandelier. I can see myself curling up on the couch with a nice book this coming Sunday

I think i could find some nice time in that room..

looks nice & sunny..
lovely to sit by the fire reading books/magazines..

so if i had the rest of the house to match...& the obvious wealth to afford it..

I think i could be a very happy bunny!!~~

no, it is overpowering and it looks like it would make be feel closed in. Rachaelxo
