If I was eating at a Turkish restaurant this setting would be ok ... but in a home - defintely not. Loving the blog Katrina - doing a great job!

Really like the new layout. Ok, the room...not loving much about this at all, except that cornice, and of course the white walls. Yuk carpet, weird cushions...sorry, not doing it for me. Tried hard but fell before the finish line. Oh and congrats to Kerry for winning the subscription too, but are you sure it was 'Kerry' and not 'Kerri'? Really, go check. I'm sure it was meant to be me! K xx

Rushing off to get ready for work so will dissect later but just wanted to say THANK YOU for my prize. I feel soooo lucky in this blog world and incredibly spoilt and I only have one addiction (that I'm prepared to admit to) and that's magazines!! I might just have to skip to the shower now!! Thanks Katrina and Julie-Ann, big hugs to you both. xx

A-M has said it all!

First impression: all I could see was pairs - two matching scrolly chairs, two matching coffee tables, two matching cushions....
Doesn't work for me.

Oh you are all so harsh.. hahaha! I love the chairs, the coffee tables, white walls and the texture. I may not be overly fond of the green cushions, but I could see myself reading a nice magazine in this room.

It does appear to be a room in duplicate. I love the colour of the cushions - a funky velevet lounge suite in that colour would have popped against those white walls. The layout of the furniture is also stiff - I can't see myself sitting there with friends waxing lyrical after dinner. But it's not offensive.

There's symmetry...and then there's bleh! Which this room is - much too try-hard. It looks more like a fake 'home-style' waiting room than a room to live in. Take the basic design elements - the white/neutral elements with black accents and colour pops, mix it all up and try again (and chuck out those chairs...ugh!) Next...!

You are doing an amazing job with this blog, Katrina. I think I liked the last header design better, but I'm so impressed with your skills nonetheless. xx

Ok, so I removed my first comment seeing you changed the picture! People would be going.... "what's she on about"? Oh I just noticed someone agreed with my comment.. and it was about the first image that you posted! Ha! Yes, furniture layout is very awkward, personally I can't get my head around the mix of colours - red, purple, 'moss', na ... love the cornice and the white walls and the light in the room... but that's just me - a white, bright, taupey, neutral, beigey addict. Love your new bloggy layout, as I said in my deleted comment... you're on a roll girl... my bloggy makeover is next...'the house' needs renovating A-M xx

I love the balance of this room it appeals to all sides of my OCD... I would prefer 1 large coffee table though. It really just leads your eye straight to the thought that you have to try and sit in the split.Something I ususally try to avoid. The other thing it does is lead your eye down that forrest road.
The mix of colours bounce off each other so well and the differing styles of furniture compliment the eclectic look this room has going on.
I think its really well done. Not my taste but really well done.
...and of course CONGRATULATIONS Kerry...

Congratulations Kerry on your prize- I hope you enjoy. Sorry it wasn't you Kerri- your comment was too funny.
I am a very symmetrical person so I don't mind the layout apart from the 2 coffee tables I want to shove together. I love the curtains, cornices, the hidden curtain tracking. I kind of like the iron chairs, they are just a tad too tall in the back. I love the black lamp and the small black framed prints. I wish the forest print was wider and not quite as high. I hate the green cushions and the red painting just looks wrong with those iron chairs.
I love this game:)

There are elements of this room I really like - cornices, curtain nook thingy, but I think there are too many disparate elements competing (not like I'd know really, but I like a game as much as the next person!). The chairs would be nice in a conservatory. I don't mind the cushions although I don't have a single green thing in my house (except the 22 year old after a big night) but it doesn't feel warm and welcoming to me. Bookcases maybe? And Kerri with an 'i' can come and visit my magazines any time she likes!!

Mmm ... interesting room and while I like the overall white theme with pops of colour, it's just not doing it for me. I particularly dislike the green cushions and there's something not quite right with the art on the walls - perhaps it all need rearranging. who knows - maybe it looks better in person!

i like it!the only thing i would change would be the big bright print on the left. The colours are very serene.

Loving your hard work on the blog! Thank you!

As for the room. I don't dislike a single item, but i dont like the combination of them. It isn't eclectic enough.. it isnt contemporary enough... it isnt modern enough... and the scale is probably the biggest problem. The artwork is too big for the space/placement and the chairs are too high in a low room. With everything heavy and low, they are too lght and high... Then there are the big cushions.. again..wrong scale and the undersized wall art.

Some great concepts. Just not working here tho.

Hate it...only thing I like is the shade of purple on the whatever they are's...:)

Mmm.. being a Libran I love everything balanced, so for me I like the symmetrical look BUT I'd be getting rid of the green cushions and the purple. That red art work would just have to go. Like the high back metal chairs but in this photo they look too overpowering.
Loving the new look of the blog and your sweet banner too

Hi Katrina and Julie-anne ~ I am going to step way outside of my comfort zone to comment here so please be kind:) I love a lot of things about this room except the scrolly chairs (like them but would put them outside..). I love the moss green and purple(not so much the red). The cornice and black frames are gorgeous...guess I like the 'pairs' thing, might be the OCD in me:) CONGRATS to the ever so gorgeous Kerry on winning your genereous giveaway, I am so happy that it was Kerry who won:) Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ~ Tina xx

Hmm, I think I would have to wear shin pads if I lived there. Those coffee tables look a little dangerous to me. Apart from that it's a little bit too paired yet mismatched.
Like the new layout. Will be expecting several more if Katrina's study is anything to go by. Love this game. Thanks ladies.

Hi Ladies,

After looking at this room, I have to say I love the white walls and cornices. Then it goes downhill for me then I'm afraid. I think the scale and proportion of things in this room is wrong and nothing seems to relate to anything else. I'm all for bringing the outside in, but can't help wondering how much it would hurt if you accidentially stubbed your toes on the wrought iron chairs. OUCH!!
